While she was home for Christmas she gave me what she picked up. Since my Japanese is a little rusty (Ok I don't know any Japanese, but I think their writing is pretty), I'll call the set- 7335 Japanese Basic Bucket.

Theme: Basic
Set Name: 7335 Foundation Set, Blue Bucket (according to Lugnet)
Piece Count: 466 (according to Lugnet)
Price: Unknown, my sister gave it to me. With the exchange rate I would guess a bit more than a set of the similar size in the US.

Review: What you get is basic bricks. Honestly, building cities and buildings sets like this are a great way to build up your collection. One thing I like is they included two small base plates. I can always use more of these, they should do more of this in US basic sets. It also came with two "sets of instructions." One came in the bucket and consisted of a one sided sheet with building ideas, the other was banded to the outside- a two sided instructions; one side for this set (the blue bucket) and the other for the Red Bucket (which looks like it is for a younger age group).

7335 Foundation Set, Blue Bucket
+: Two base plates
-: Not really anything out of the ordinary
Value: I really couldn't give a true value on the price, I don't know what it cost. But if it cost the same as comparable sets in the US I would say it has Average Value

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_eWPg3kC7gdw/SWFigeCuT-I/AAAAAAAAAJY/T1UyGJ-YKdg/s320/Jap+Set+1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287615747469496290" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWPg3kC7gdw/SWFihuE7EBI/AAAAAAAAAJg/B1Zd3MYaQx4/s320/Jap+Set+2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287615768953557010" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eWPg3kC7gdw/SWFja6QJ1lI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/O9Jj4JQzLsQ/s320/Jap+Set+3.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287616751474431570" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eWPg3kC7gdw/SWFiiksTn0I/AAAAAAAAAJw/p85dRSKyaDQ/s320/Jap+Set+4.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287615783614259010" />

A Short Hiatus...On A Bigger Scale

Well, it has been awhile since I posted. Go check it out!

Toys R Us Lego Sale

Toys R Us is having a great sale on a few Lego sets. 40% off of two different Bionicle sets -$7.19-$17.99, and 40% off of three Aqua Raiders sets -$11.99-$23.98.

A Bit of Room

My collection finally has a bit of room to spread out. This week was a bit crazy so I moved it all this Saturday. Not as much room as I would like, but it is more than I had in the basement. I'm not sure how much of the stuff in the giant tubs will get taken apart and organized. Getting rid of a tub or 2 would give me a lot more room to move about in there. In the end I'm sure my collection will be happier though. Our new house has a walk-up attic that, once it is finished off, will house my collection quite nicely. But, alas, it is regulated to confinement in boxes and tubs in the basement. Well, no longer! Soon it will be moving to a warmer place. My wife and I cleared out a space in the spare bedroom/laundry room so I can once again create! Hopefully over the course of this week I can slowly drag the boxes and tubs up and see how many sets that I had built stayed that way.

Toys R Us Lego Sale

Toys R Us has a few Lego sets on sale this week. Well, I finally took the plunge and started. I intend to bring interesting, fun, and creative content about one of my favorite things- Lego! The things you can create are endless; it only takes a few minutes on Google or Brickshelf to see the incredible things people have made in the 50 years Lego has been around. As for myself, I have only been collecting Legos for about half that time. I cannot remember a time in my childhood before Lego (or Star Wars for that matter). My collection has grown in size each year, and now it takes over any room I keep them in. I have spent countless hours building and enjoying Lego, and hope to share my excitement with others. Enter the Blog.
Ideas keep popping into my head of things I would love to write about, but that will all come in time. So, let the journey begin...
